We know Brian Kane from when he was design director at Metropolitan Furniture, a Steelcase company, and Kirk Hobbs, OFFI founder and president, was working there as an engineer. Brian was a very positive influence on Kirk's decision several years later to start OFFI. Brian's design philosophy -- doing more with less -- blends well with the OFFI design style. He designed the first collection for OFFI in 1998 and indirectly he works with us more currently through Turnstone, a Steelcase company where these same design philosophies meet their more contract oriented objectives, making this match of company and designer a good fit.
Brian has developed key pieces such as the Manhattan and Monterey Lounge Groups and the Rubber Collection, part of the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
